Retired MLB pitcher Bret Saberhagen will be doing a live video Q&A session using the Spreecast platform on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. CT in order to visually engage with his fans.
This will be Saberhagen’s first Spreecast, which has been named “Former MLB Pitcher Bret Saberhagen Chat.”
The former two-time Cy Young winner and World Series MVP has an active social media presence with profiles on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Saberhagen has hosted Q&A’s on his Facebook fan page in the past, but wanted to take that a step further with a live video chat.
“I think it’s a great opportunity to connect with my fans in a way that’s more personal, while also giving me the chance to discuss my Foundation,” Saberhagen said.
Saberhagen’s foundation, Make A Difference, was founded in 2003 and places an emphasis on assisting under-privileged children.
In addition, Saberhagen will randomly select a fan attending the video chat to receive an autographed Bret Saberhagen baseball jersey of their choice.
Celebrities and brands use Spreecast in order to engage with audiences in a way that offers a more interactive experience. It has been utilized by the likes of ESPN, the Wall Street Journal and USA Today.
Bret Saberhagen retired from Major League Baseball in 2001 after an 18-year career. Saberhagen is a three-time All Star, World Series MVP, two-time Cy Young winner, Comeback Player of the Year and has been inducted into the Kansas City Royals Hall of Fame.
