Alvernia University Announces First Masters in Organizational Leadership Degree in Berks County
Reading, PA (PRWEB) April 09, 2014 -- Alvernia University, long considered a vanguard in leadership development, now offers a master’s in organizational leadership (MOL) program. The classes will be taught by a faculty of accomplished scholars and industry experts.
“Since we already offer a doctorate in leadership degree, it was logical for Alvernia to offer the first and only master of arts in organizational leadership in the region,” said Daria LaTorre, dean of the school of graduate and adult education at Alvernia. “We created this program for those who want to affect positive change.”
This selective program is offered in a small cohort model to promote collaboration and professional growth. Classes are offered in the evenings at Alvernia’s main campus in Reading and are delivered in traditional, blended and online formats. Students who enroll in the fall cohort should graduate in less than two years.
The curriculum focuses on developing the knowledge, skills, abilities and behaviors essential for effectively leading teams, groups and organizations. By embracing a multidisciplinary approach, students gain a holistic perspective necessary for making decisions in today’s complex business environment.
Designed for a wide range of technical and functional experts, supervisors, managers, project mangers, and executives, the program develops the critical thinking, communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills pivotal for motivating and engaging employees, generating organizational strategy, and driving long-term superior organizational performance.
Alvernia’s MOL program follows the guidelines established by the International Leadership Association for leadership programs and incorporates the best practices of the Center for Creative Leadership and Harvard Business School.
This program is geared to the working professional and Alvernia recognizes that this type of student has different needs than traditional students. That’s why this in-demand leadership program was created with flexible scheduling and learning options.
