Explore the Fundamental Components of Trusted Clouds with “Building the Infrastructure for Cloud Security: A Solutions View”—Released by Apress Media
New York, NY (PRWEB) April 08, 2014 -- Cloud security is an increasingly pressing concern as more and more businesses depend on the cloud for their applications and data storage. Organizations that do not adopt cloud computing largely cite security as the primary inhibitor. More cloud service providers are now treating security as a foundational part of their infrastructures along with performance, power consumption, and uptime. “Building the Infrastructure for Cloud Security: A Solutions View”—newly published by Apress in partnership with Intel—is a crucial reference guide for both cloud users and providers alike.
Author Raghuram Yeluri is a Principal Engineer and lead Security Solutions Architect in the Data Center and Cloud Products Group at Intel, focusing on virtualization and cloud security usages, solution architectures, and technology initiatives. Yeluri regularly drives security solution pathfinding and development to deliver hardware-assisted security solutions that enable deep visibility, orchestration, and control in multi-tenant clouds. Along with co-author Enrique Castro-Leon, Yeluri highlights the fundamental technology components necessary to build and enable trusted clouds, and explains the security and compliance challenges organizations face as they migrate mission-critical applications. He describes how trusted clouds that have their integrity rooted in hardware can address these challenges. “Traditional parameter-based defenses are insufficient in the cloud. Raghu's book addresses this problem head-on by highlighting unique usage models to enable trusted infrastructure in this open environment,” says Nikhil Sharma, Senior Director of Cloud Solutions at EMC Corporation.
“Building the Infrastructure for Cloud Security” is aimed at readers familiar with cloud technology who are interested in a deeper exploration of security issues. The book provides enlightening use cases and solution reference architectures to enable infrastructure integrity and the creation of trusted pools leveraging Intel Trusted Execution Technology (TXT). It offers a unique view of identity management and control in the cloud, as well as network security. The authors conclude by extending the notion of trust to virtual machines and workloads and by providing a comprehensive exposition of secure cloud bursting reference architecture through a real-world implementation. Industry participants in any executive, architecture, engineering, system integration, or development role are encouraged to examine this work of security innovation.
