American Textile Recycling Service Brings Rock, Run, Recycle Campaign to St. Jude Country Music Marathon and 1/2 Marathon in Nashville
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) April 23, 2014 -- American Textile Recycling Service employees and volunteers are teaming up once again to make the Nashville Country Music Marathon a cleaner, greener community event April 24-26th. Runners, participants and spectators are challenged to bring unwanted running gear and shoes to the Expo for recycling and drop warm-up gear into convenient Start Line carts marked ROCK, RUN, RECYCLE.
Look for brightly colored volunteers at the race wearing trademark ATRS Recycle Here shirts where over 30,000 registered runners are expected to participate. Each pound collected on Race Day and at the Health and Fitness Expo directly benefits local charitable partner, MADD Tennessee. The ATRS Clothing & Shoe Recycling Partnership with MADD TN provides much needed funding to maintain advocacy programs and facilities serving local victims of drunk driving and their families.
"Because of the support received from ATRS Recycling, MADD TN is able to offer its programs and services at no cost to our community," says Marius L. Rush, MADD Development Office. "ATRS and its employees care about MADD. Together, we are serving victims, preventing underage drinking and saving lives."
Perishables collected from the finish line will be collected by ATRS Recycling and delivered to local churches and shelters providing relief to Nashville's homeless community. Unused marathon apparel, tees and medals will be recycled to benefit MADD. The recycling partnership ensures thousands of pounds of race related recyclables are diverted from Nashville's waste stream and the course cleared ahead of trash trucks.
