California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) Honors Lata Krishnan; Silicon Valley Philanthropist to Receive 2014 Haridas & Bina Chaudhuri Award
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) April 11, 2014 -- California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) will present the 2014 Haridas and Bina Chaudhuri Award for Distinguished Service to Lata Krishnan at a ceremony on the evening of April 26, 2014, at the Crowne Plaza Cabana Hotel in Palo Alto, CA.
Ms. Krishnan is receiving the award in recognition of her leadership, insight, philanthropic perseverance, and dedication to improving the quality of lives in the Bay Area and worldwide.
The Chaudhuri Award, named for the University’s visionary co-founders is among the most respected community service awards given to an individual whose life exemplifies the selfless service modeled by Haridas and Bina Chaudhuri in aiding the Bay Area community and the world.
“Every year the Chaudhuri Dinner gives the CIIS community the opportunity to remember and honor its founders, Haridas and Bina Chaudhuri,” said Dorotea Reyna, Director of Development at CIIS. “It also gives us the opportunity to recognize individuals like Lata Krishnan who have made such a difference in the world through their visionary service.”
Previous recipients of this award include Deepak Chopra, Kavita N. Ramdas, and Mani L. Bhaumik.
Ms. Krishnan is the Chief Financial Officer of Shah Capital Partners and a Board Member of Silicon Valley Bank Financial Group. She is Chair of the American India Foundation, an organization with a long-term commitment to accelerating social and economic development in India and to strengthening the bonds between the U.S. and India. She is a Fellow of the American Leadership Forum and serves on the board of The Commonwealth Club of California.
