'These mixers deliver qualities not usually found in portable mixers, including fat, natural sounding bass, rich mids and smooth highs with very low distortion,' said John Schauer, product manager, Live Sound, Yamaha Corporation of America.

Yamaha announces the MG Mixer Madness Sweepstakes, which runs through April 14. This sweepstakes will allow three lucky winners to be among the first owners of an MG Series mixer. Yamaha will give away an MG06, MG06X, and MG10. One additional winner will receive the Ultimate Songwriter’s Package, consisting of one MG10XU mixer, M770 mixer stand, A3R Acoustic Electric Guitar with hardshell case and a DXR10 speaker set. To enter, go to the Yamaha Live Sound Facebook page, found at http://4wrd.it/MGMIXERMADNESS, then follow the instructions.
The redesigned MG Series provides compact, cost-effective and great sounding solutions for install, recording or live settings. Ten models, which continue the tradition of design and performance excellence that made the MG mixer line so popular incorporate technologies originally developed for high-end professional mixers, including studio-quality preamps, powerful digital signal processing and rugged, reliable construction.
All MG models come with Yamaha state-of-the-art discrete Class-A D-PRE microphone preamps. By using an inverted Darlington circuit topography, these studio-grade preamps feature multiple circuitry elements designed to provide more power, deliver lower impedance and supply an impressively wide frequency range that can handle signal from any source without coloration while faithfully retaining the original sound.
With varying input/output and processing capabilities, the new MG Series includes four XU models that feature an upgraded version of the renowned Yamaha SPX effects processor, including a comprehensive suite of 24 different effects that add professional polish to any mix (upgraded from the 16-effect version in the previous MG series). A favorite of sound engineers since their introduction more than 20 years ago, SPX processors have become the industry standard for both recording and sound reinforcement applications. The MG06X also comes with six non-editable SPX effects (but does not include USB integration, found on the XU models). Five Standard models range from six to twenty channels.
“The winners of these prizes will soon come to realize that these mixers deliver qualities not usually found in portable mixers, including fat, natural sounding bass, rich mids and smooth highs with very low distortion,” said John Schauer, product manager, Live Sound, Yamaha Corporation of America. “Performing and recording musicians need a quality mixer and the new MG series provide consumers with high performance at a great value.”
