Coastal Healthcare Consulting Announces New Healthcare Data Extraction Case Study
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) April 10, 2014 -- Coastal Healthcare Consulting has published a new case study sharing important information about a recent healthcare data extraction project. The case study, entitled “Extraction of Data for New System Migrations and Archiving,” details a data extraction project they did for The Nebraska Medical Center, which is the largest healthcare facility in Nebraska. The case study offers project details, challenges faced, and the results and solutions of the project.
“This is a project we are proud to have completed,” explains Pat Oligmueller, Coastal’s Senior Executive Vice President. “We were able to successfully meet their needs and to do so within a tight timeframe of eight weeks.”
The data extraction project consisted of nine conversion extracts from GE Healthcare’s clinical and financial systems to its new Epic system. The work was done in a very short time period and required minimal assistance from the internal IT resources at The Nebraska Medical Center.
The client provided a list of desired data extracts, as well as Epic extract specifications. The work was performed offsite, under the direction of Nebraska’s IT Director.
To maintain open lines of communication, there were daily and weekly conference calls. The project entailed coding, unit testing, and peer reviews of the extraction program. Within the eight-week deadline, Coastal was successful in being able to deliver the nine conversion extractions, citing four main factors that contribute to their success.
