The cost of Egyptian Cotton is at an all-time high, but at Exceptional Sheets, we have no plans on passing this cost on to our customers

Evansville, IN (PRWEB) April 10, 2014

Despite news this week that Egypt’s cotton exports decreased by 42 percent in the first quarter of the agricultural season, ExceptionalSheets.com's Paul Saunders says his company's prices will remain fixed, despite the rising cost and declining exports of Egyptian Cotton.

“Even with the massive costs associated with Egyptian Cotton at the moment, we remain committed to our current prices and will not increase them despite the rising costs to the business,” said Saunders, of Exceptional Sheets, an E-commerce company that specializes in bed and bath linens made from Egyptian cotton. “While many of our competitors can, and will, take a reactionary stance and drastically raise their prices, we will not stray from our goal, which is to provide the highest quality linens for the best prices online, or anywhere," said Saunders.

According to TheCairoPost.com, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) stated in their quarterly report this week that Egypt’s cotton exports decreased this year, declining by 42 percent in the first quarter of the agricultural season, which began in September 2013. The organization recorded only 79,600 quintal exported, compared to the 137,400 quintal exported during the same period last year.

“The cost of Egyptian Cotton is at an all-time high, but at Exceptional Sheets, we have no plans to pass this cost on to our customers,” Saunders said. "People come to us for a fair price on some of the finest luxury items made in the world, and we don't want them to be affected by this issue."

The long staple cotton grown on the banks of the Egyptian Nile River is known to be some of the world's finest, and the quality of the yarn is largely a function of the length of the cotton fiber itself. Long-staple cotton is spun into a smoother, stronger and much finer yarn than most cotton and is used in many items, such as luxury towels, sheets and clothing.
