Diocese of Harrisburg Partners with MMS Online to Bring School Management into the Cloud
Barrington, NH (PRWEB) April 13, 2014 -- Computer Resources LLC, publisher of the MMS Student Information Platform announced today that The Roman Catholic Diocese of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania has selected cloud-based MMS Online to provide centralized student information services for their school system.
Eliminating the overhead of software licensing, server maintenance, and multiple vendor contracts will allow the Diocese to streamline the management of their student information across all of their schools. Seven Diocesan high schools have been working with MMS for several years, and were familiar with MMS’ depth of functionality and reputation for high quality service. The same web-based functionality will now be available to all Diocese elementary and middle school educators, students, and parents.
“To stay focused on our students, we needed a reliable vendor for student information services that would allow us to deliver on our mission by minimizing the cost, maintenance, and support of our SIS,” said Livia Riley, the Diocese’s Superintendent. “Some of our schools have been working with MMS for 20 years. Now with their MMS Online offering, we will be able to take advantage of the MMS Parent, Staff and Student portals in all of our elementary, middle, and high schools without having to manage multiple installations on a school-by-school basis.”
Catholic schools center on the integration of thinking and believing in ways that encourage intellectual growth and nurture faith and inspiration. The supportive and challenging climate they build creates an environment that fosters success, including:
• High School graduation rates of over 98%
• Those High School graduates received over $26 Million in scholarships in 2011
• 93% of Elementary students score above average in Language Skills
• 85% of Elementary students score above average in Reading
• 81% score above average in Math
• With exceptional graduation rates exceeding 98%, the schools of the Diocese of Harrisburg serve 15 counties and cover over 7,660 square miles of central Pennsylvania.
“We are proud to serve the Diocese of Harrisburg,” Michael Bronder, Managing Director for Computer Resources said. “The diversity of students served by the Diocese, and their impressive success rates, demonstrate that there is hope for closing the Achievement Gap in American schools. Our goal is to make the administration of their schools seamless so they can focus on the excellent work that they are called to do.”
