Complimentary Skin Cancer Screenings For Early Detection at The Skin Care Institute in Tulsa, OK
Tulsa, OK (PRWEB) April 11, 2014 -- Skin Care Institute, Tulsa’s premier medical spa will be kicking of Skin Cancer Detection & Prevention Month by offering free skin cancer screenings at a semi-annual Open House on May 1 from 5:30pm through 8:00pm.
Board-certified Dr. Jeff Alexander, Medical Director of The Skin Care Institute and Dermatology Clinic in Tulsa is concerned about this continuing health concern and wants to help saves lives with early detection of skin cancer. While indoor tanning and excessive exposure to the sun without protection increases your risks of developing skin cancer, it can still happen to anyone. The American Cancer Society estimates that one person dies each hour from melanoma, the most deadly form of skin cancer. Ironically, much of the population is unaware that skin cancer is the most deadly form of cancer and often dismiss small, yet suspicious skin growths.
Skin cancer screenings at any age are very valuable,” says Dr. Alexander, “Something that may appear completely superficial can actually be much more complicated and that’s why it is important to get regular screenings.” Dr. Alexander hopes that patients will use these skin cancer screenings as the first step to becoming more aware and knowledgeable about skin cancer and the actions they can take to stay healthy.
The Open House on May 1st will also offer event-only specials for major savings on a variety of skin care products and services from skin rejuvenation treatments such as BOTOX® and photofacials as well as non-invasive body contouring procedures so you can achieve all your cosmetic goals.
