BikeWalkKC Needs Volunteers for the Tour De Bier KC on May 18
Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) April 11, 2014 -- Tour de Bier KC is the city's most unique bike ride and one of the most exciting volunteer experiences around! The Tour, which takes place on May 18, celebrates Kansas City's rich brewery heritage and showcases today's vibrant brewing culture.
This is the only bike ride where biking is the beneficiary! Tour de Bier supports the work of local advocacy group BikeWalkKC to improve bicycling and walking. It helps us provide professional advocates and educators to raise awareness, work with elected officials, and advocate for more trails, bike lanes, and sidewalks.
"Without our volunteers, we couldn't make this event a success," says Executive Director Eric Rogers. "Our volunteers work so hard for us and still manage to have a ton of fun!"
BikeWalkKC is looking to fill the following volunteer jobs:
-Setup the event site at Knuckleheads (before sunrise!)
-Registration and check in
-Fun and Games - entertaining people while they stand in line
-Crowd Control - herding people and managing chaos
-Parking Control
-SAG - Driving the route to assist riders
-Rest Stops - fueling riders with food, water, and fun during their ride
-Docents - Helping riders understand the historic sites along the tour route (historic costumes optional but encouraged!)
-Clean-Up Crew in the late afternoon
Those wanting to ride the tour and volunteer can do so. Visit the BikeWalkKC website with more info about how to be a volunteer.
