MEA's ElectricU Releases More Lineworker Courses
Eagan, MN (PRWEB) April 15, 2014 -- MEA is pleased to announce the release of 3 new online courses for lineworkers. The courses are part of ElectricU.org, an online university for those in electric distribution. With this release, ElectricU subscribers will have access to 138 courses designed for Apprentice and Journeyman lineworkers.
The newly available courses are:
• ELEC-03047 Splicing and Terminating New Underground Secondary Cable
• ELEC-03048 Splicing New Underground Primary Cable
• ELEC-03049 Terminating New Underground Primary Cable
The courses are accessed via the internet or from a company’s intranet. In addition, course content can be presented in a traditional classroom setting with a laptop and LCD projector in a group session to review and discuss proper procedures. Courses are assigned, delivered, and tracked using either MEA’s or a company’s own learning management system (LMS). Every course offers a pre- and post-course knowledge test and a recordkeeping feature. In addition, most courses have one or more Performance Evaluation Forms (PEF). The PEFs are designed for use in simulated hands-on training to determine if an individual has the knowledge and skills to perform a particular task. Courses are AICC and SCORM compliant.
The ElectricU materials can be used to complement a utility’s or contractor company’s existing apprentice and journeyman training programs and provide updated, industry-consensus learning at a fraction of the cost of classroom training.
