The generosity of all of our clients and guests who attend enables us to make an investment in our community, and our future, by making a significant donation to the Neediest Kids.
Reston, Virginia (PRWEB) April 15, 2014
The Wise Investor Group at Robert W. Baird & Co., a team of experienced financial professionals offering financial planning, portfolio management, investment analysis and account services, today announced that they raised $24,245 for The Neediest Kids, a program of The National Center for Children and Families, during the annual seminar held in January.
The Wise Investor Group hosted this year’s Annual Seminar at the Fairview Park Marriott, attracting an audience of more than 400. Attendees were treated to a discussion of the financial roadmap for 2014, featuring advice from Simon Hamilton, Director and Financial Advisor; Eric Wightman, Managing Director and Financial Advisor and Greg Smith, Senior Private Wealth Management Financial Planner and Managing Director.
“Every year, the seminar seems to attract a growing number of investors,” said Hamilton. “The generosity of all of our clients and guests who attend enables us to make an investment in our community, and our future, by making a significant donation to The Neediest Kids.”
The Neediest Kids, a part of The National Center for Children and Families, provides thousands of Washington, D.C. Metro area low-income students with the basic essentials needed to ensure they receive a quality education. According to the non-profit, there are 250,000 low-income children in the DC Metro region that require assistance. The Neediest Kids has been serving the area for more than 40 years, and within the last school year alone helped 20,000 children.
“The Wise Investor Group has been a strong partner and donor for a number of years,” said Lynne Downer, Associate Director of Development at The National Center for Children and Families. “The donation will help vulnerable students in the DC metro area to receive eye glasses and eye exams, new clothes, school uniforms, school supplies, food, personal care items and transportation so they can stay in school and be ready to learn.”
The Wise Investor Group is honored to support children’s charities. In addition to The Neediest Kids, the Wise Investor Group has supported the Orphan Foundation of America, now known as Foster Care to Success, for more than a decade. Over the years, they have donated more than $200,000 to the organization with proceeds from their financial seminars. The Wise Investor Group is proud to support the community through the efforts of these non-profit organizations.
