The possibilities are limited only by the creativity of millions of do-it-yourselfers.
Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) April 14, 2014
Thought it was too late to become the next Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese or Quentin Tarantino? Think again – Bercom Incorporated, the national manufacturer of HANDy Paint Products, is inviting do-it-yourself painters (and aspiring Hollywood directors) to enter its 3rd Annual HANDy Paint Products Online Video Contest.
To enter, contestants must submit a short YouTube-style video, during which a HANDy Paint Product is used in some way, shape or form (as long as it’s legal). Among the products that could be featured in the video:the popular HANDy Paint Pail, Paint Tray, Paint Cup, Roller Cup, Roller Pail, Paint Ladder Pail, and Bucket Builder.
The HANDy Paint Products Online Video Contest grand prize is $2,000 in cash. Second place receives $750 and third place receives $250. The top three winners also each receive a GoPro Hero 3+ camera. All entrants who submit a video receive $50 worth of free HANDy Paint Products. An additional $5,000 prize will be given to whoever is able to make his or her video “go viral” on YouTube by the end of 2014 (e.g. with 50,000 views or more). The deadline for video entries is April 30, 2014. Entry details and video submission details can be downloaded online or call toll-free with questions about the contest at 877-464-1170.
“Your video entry can be shot in any style – examples could include a Julia Roberts/Meg Ryan romantic comedy, a Bruce Willis/Sylvester Stallone-style gritty action thriller, a Gravity-defying science fiction film, or even a tense NCIS/Law & Order-style drama,” says Mark Bergman, President and CEO of Bercom Incorporated. “Our only contest rule is that somewhere in your video a HANDy Paint Product appears.”
“Imagine what George Clooney, Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper or Denzel Washington could do with a HANDy Paint Pail in their next movie,” added Bergman. “Or imagine if kidnappers had taken Liam Neeson’s home painting tools, forcing him to warn them over the phone about his ‘very particular set of painting skills.’ The possibilities are limited only by the creativity of millions of do-it-yourselfers.”
Finalists will be featured at the May 17, 2014, HANDy Paint Products Film Festival taking place at Bercom headquarters in Chanhassen, Minn. Film Festival judges include WCCO TV’s Pat Kessler, ShopHQ’s Kim Wells, and the Star Tribune’s Cynthia Dickison. The Bercom-sponsored event is open to the public, and any donations made at the Film Festival will go to the Alzheimer’s Association of Minnesota. In 2013, the festival raised nearly $5,000 in donations. Registration details will be made available at handypaintproducts.com.
