Wigs by Patti's Pearls Celebrates Surviving and Thriving Women with Wig Giveaway
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) April 14, 2014 -- Wigs by Patti's Pearls, a leading online store that specializes in providing wigs for women that suffer from cancer and medical hair loss, today announced the successful completion of its campaign to provide 14 wigs in 14 days during the month of February to those in need.
Celebrated as part of the Surviving and Thriving Women program, Wigs by Patti's Pearls reached out to 14 different women who were cancer and alopecia patients and had been afflicted with hair loss.
Alopecia is a medical condition that typically starts with hair loss in one or more spots on the scalp, and may spread to the entire scalp, sometimes with pain or tingling. According to WebMD, it occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles

Among the group of women selected for the wig giveaway included a young grade school music teacher who said she uses her alopecia as an anti-bullying tool. "I just love stories like that," says Wigs by Patti's Pearls owner Patti Joyce. "It is really inspiring to hear these women's stories of how they are personally overcoming their struggles. My own personal uphill battle to 'Surviving and Thriving' was incredibly trying, so the opportunity to give something back to these women has been a great blessing."
