RC3 Blue is a new color variation of the popular GPS watch for runners and cyclists, says the Heart Rate Watch Company.
"Polar RC3 blue is a nice color option and the watch is a nice alternative to the new Polar V800 for cyclists and runners because it is about half the price," says Rusty Squire, President of the Heart Rate Watch Company. He adds, "This watch delivers great pace, heart rate, calorie and distance data, along with post-exercise maps."
Polar RC3 Versus V800
"Polar V800 is a purists triathlon watch while the Polar RC3 blue is a running and cycling watch because it is not waterproof, nor does it accommodate any swimming features," says Squire. He adds, "Polar RC3 runs around $240 with heart rate while the V800 runs at $499; so for the price sensitive that bike and run, this watch is a really good option."
"Of course the V800 is going to be loaded with Bluetooth Smart making it very pragmatic for those that use primarily a smartphone for all their computing," says Squire.
"I really liked this watch a lot when I tested it because it offers great heart rate data, five zones, smart coaching features, and pacing," says Squire. He adds, "For the price point at under $250, you will not find one other GPS watch on the market that matches it."
New Chest Strap
"Polar RC3 Blue actually comes with a blue fabric chest strap, which is sort of unique given that all the other chest straps out there are black," says Squire. He adds, "I actually like the look of colored straps so hopefully it is a trend that catches on," says Squire.
