DeCrescente Distributing Company partnered with Guinness to raise money in support of The Leary Firefighters Foundation. Through premium giveaways and samples of Guinness Draught, the beverage distributor and participating local bars and restaurants have raised $3,665 to support funding and resources for fire departments to get the best available equipment, technology and training.
“It’s great to see local businesses banding together for this cause and contributing to The Leary Firefighters Foundation mission,” said Bob Camarota, Guinness brand manager of DeCrescente Distributing Company.
Actor Denis Leary, who lost his cousin, childhood friend and four other firefighters in a tragic fire in Worcester, Mass., established The Leary Firefighters Foundation in 2000. The money raised will benefit not only the firefighters, but also the people in the communities they serve.
Among the local supporters was The Ale House, located in Troy, N.Y., who raised roughly $930 for the cause. The Ale House is one of the Capital Region’s most beloved, hometown bars.
“We were honored to support this cause,” said Brian Gilchrist, owner of The Ale House. “Firefighters are brave individuals who risk their lives for us every day. It’s important they have the best and safest equipment.”
