Whittier Area Clergy and Rose Hills Extend Easter Sunrise Tradition
Whittier, CA (PRWEB) April 15, 2014 -- Rose Hills and Whittier Area Clergy Association welcomes the public to San Gabriel Valley’s largest and longest running Easter Sunrise Service at 6:00 a.m. inside Gate One of the Memorial Park.
A Rose Hills tradition for 62 years now, President R. Wyatt Powell of Whittier Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will deliver this year’s Easter Message. Other Whittier area clergy participating include: Father Bill Garrison of Saint Matthias Episcopal Church, Pastor Gabriel Lopez of East Whittier Christian Church, Reverend Kel Henderson of First Christian Church and Reverend Layne Beamer of First Christian Church.
The hour-long program is attended by over 900 early risers and will include scripture readings and prayers in addition to a musical celebration under the direction of Paul Delgado.
Donations accepted during the service, including a matching contribution from Rose Hills, will benefit Interfaith Food Center, a non-profit charity organization dedicated to meeting the needs of our hungry and homeless neighbors in our local communities.
