Announcement: BluesGuitar.com Releases “String Bending Exercise - Electric Blues Guitar Lesson”
(PRWEB) April 14, 2014 -- “We are looking at a string bending exercise I’ve created over the blues,” says MacLennan, “We are just bending into chord tones.” This exercise consists of bending into the Fifths of each chord in the blues and again Jon demonstrates this over the chords on the backing track that he explains are A7, D7 and E7. Jon says that “you need to find the fifth of each of those chords.” Jon explains the fifths for each chord as follows; on the A7 the third is E, he starts a whole step below on D on the 7th fret of the 3rd string and he bends it up to an E. Jon says, “you want to work on getting it right in tune and maybe add some vibrato.” Next he moves to D7 and the Fifth is A which he bends from G on the 8th fret of the 2nd string and then he moves back and repeats E again. And finally for the five chord, E7, and the Fifth is B which bends up from the A on the 10th fret of the 2nd string and then he moves back to the D7 and then to the A7 to complete the 12 Bar Progression. Jon continues this blues guitar lesson by improvising this technique over a backing track. Guitar TAB’s are available at BluesGuitar.com.
