Once again, the Paul Larson OB/GYN Clinic earned top marks in Minnesota Community Measurement's annual Health Care Quality Report. The clinic stood out from other Minnesota health care providers for achieving above-average ratings on more than half of the reported clinical measurements and for being the only OB/GYN named as a high performer in patient satisfaction.

While we always strive to be the best in every category, we understand that the care and comfort of our patients is the top priority.

Each year Minnesota Community Measurement (MNCM) issues their Health Care Quality Report, and every year Paul Larson OB/GYN proves itself as one of the top female health care providers in the state. The 2013 report is no exception, as the clinic received above-average ratings on all judged domains and was praised for achieving rates and confidence levels significantly above average for three of the four measurements directed specifically at OB/GYN practices.

Among the areas where the Paul Larson Clinic graded particularly high were in screenings for breast cancer, colorectal cancer, and cervical cancer. In some cases, such as in mammogram testing, the clinic not only out-performed other OB/GYN facilities but all of the 167 surveyed health care providers.

Clinic team members are particularly proud of their accomplishments in patient satisfaction, since Paul Larson was the only OB/GYN chosen as a high performer in that category. The scores were based on responses to surveys where patients had to rate practices in multiple areas, including access to care, courtesy and respect of office staff, and communication with doctors. In each of these domains, The Paul Larson Clinic earned more "positive" responses than any other female medical provider and was one of only 28 medical centers recognized as an outstanding performer in patient satisfaction.

"We're so pleased to have gotten such a positive response from our patients and consider it the ultimate success," said Doctor Hirt. "While we always strive to be the best in every category, we understand that the care and comfort of our patients is the top priority."

The 2013 Health Care Quality Report marks the 10th year MNCM has issued the publication. Its goal is to promote the health of Minnesota residents by freely reporting health care information, which helps patients stay informed and holds medical providers accountable. The Paul Larson Clinic has shown steady improvement throughout its many years of participating in the project and has had consistently superior rankings over the past three years.

"Our goal is to provide the best possible care to women and to continually enhance their health and medical experiences" said Executive Director Darvia Herold. "This year's Health Care Quality Report shows we're doing just that, and we're thrilled to have our efforts showcased. Still, our clinic is never satisfied if we're not improving, which means we plan on offering even more to our patients in 2014."

Paul Larson OB/GYN is a physician practice specializing in obstetrics and gynecology.
