Lubbock Association of Realtors Invest in Protecting Private Property Rights
Lubbock, Texas (PRWEB) May 01, 2014 -- In making plans to purchase a home, upgrade, or invest in real estate, having rights protected as a property owner and being able to have a voice when it comes to new laws is extremely important. How does that happen? Who shares the opinions of Texas private property owners with the lawmakers? The Texas Realtors Political Action Committee (TREPAC) supports the policies and lawmakers that work to protect private property owners from excess taxes, mandatory ordinances and unfair laws that not only impact them as a property owner – but they affect the quality of life.
Just like any other committee or organization, funds are needed to operate. The Lubbock Association of Realtors (LAR) and their affiliate members are proud to support TREPAC and what it stands for. There are several events and fundraisers that LAR and their affiliate members hold throughout the year. The most recent of which was The Casino Night – Black Jack for TREPAC.
Tony Lloyd, partner at RE/MAX Lubbock said, “The Casino Night is an opportunity for members of the Lubbock Association of Realtors, and their affiliate members to have a fun filled opportunity to invest in protecting private property rights.” The money raised for the event will be used by the Texas Realtors Political Action Committee (TREPAC) to support the candidates that support the preservation of private property rights and those issues that property owners continue to face. A few of the statewide and national issues that are their priorities are:
1. Homeownership & real estate investment tax policies (mortgage interest deduction)
2. Credit & lending policies ( credit policies, FHA single-family mortgage program, FHA condominium requirements, Short Sale/Loss mitigation)
3. Business operations (privacy & data security, regulations due to Dodd-Frank Act, Immigration’s impact on real estate, sensible appraisal policies)
4. Commercial (Commercial real estate liquidity, Basel III, lease accounting)
RE/MAX Lubbock agents, Rusty DeLoach, Nancy Rawls and Tony Lloyd are very active TREPAC members and proudly support this foundation as well as the policies and lawmakers that are working on their behalf. They are very passionate about serving their communities by being a voice for them and truly working hard for the good of the community and a better quality of life.
