Step Up will gather some of New York’s sharpest business minds at the nonprofit’s third annual Power Hour on Thursday, April 24, at 6:30 p.m. at the Hearst Tower in partnership with Marie Claire. The event will celebrate mentorship, providing guests with coveted access to inspiring ‘power mentors’ for the evening, while raising funds for Step Up’s programs for teen girls from under-resourced communities.

The event will also fête mentorship champion and Gilt Chief Executive Officer, Michelle Peluso. Marie Claire Editor-in-Chief Anne Fulenwider will offer welcome remarks.

“Power Hour connects impressive and inspiring industry-leaders who are committed to impacting our community philanthropically,” Step Up CEO Jenni Luke said. “By sharing their time and talent at Power Hour, these mentors not only impact our guests, but also the Step Up teen girls who rely on our mentorship programs during their high school years.”

Joining Peluso and Luke in support of the event will be host committee members Kelly Rutherford, Amy Brenneman, Lisa Graham and Anna Schilling, and the evening’s Power Mentors -- leaders, experts and top minds in their fields. They include: Terrie Brennan (Nielsen), Lisa Caputo (Travelers), Nancy Cardone (Marie Claire), Nicole Crighton (KPMG), Fran Della Badia (Coach), Linda Descano (Citi), Siggy Flicker (relationship expert), Jennifer Frommer (music industry executive), Alice Gabriele (Pinnacle Associates LTD.), Alexis Glick (GENYOUTH Foundation), Lea Goldman (Marie Claire), Michelle Horowitz (The Loft Inc.), Rita J. King (Science House), Tamara Knechtel (Knechtel Group), Harriet Levine (Stuart Levine & Associates), Nicolette Mason (Marie Claire), Karen Milley (JM Smucker), James Orsini (Single Touch Systems Inc.), Amy Radin (AXA), Jenn Rogien (Girls/Orange is the New Black), Christine Sandler (NYSE), Sheila Spence (WPP), Adaora Udoji (journalist), Alina Vanderberghe (Pearson plc), Helena Verellen (WWE), Brad Walsh (musician), Tracey Weber (Gilt) and Samantha Yanks (Gotham magazine).

In conjunction with the event, Step Up will host an online auction featuring exclusive mentorship experiences like lunching with an Emmy Award-winning actress and curating a dinner party with a celebrity chef. Packages are available for bidding April 15-May 4 at charitybuzz.com/stepup.

The event has the support of corporate sponsors including The Boston Consulting Group and media partners Marie Claire and Gotham magazine.
