(PRWEB UK) 16 April 2014 -- LRQA, one of the founding members of the CDP verification partnership programme, has formalised its relationship with CDP for another three years. CDP is an international, not-for-profit organisation providing the only global system for companies and cities to measure, manage and disclose vital environmental information. CDP works with 767 institutional investors holding US$92 trillion in assets.
The alliance will see LRQA represented on CDP’s verification working group, which will work to further develop CDP’s approach to the verification of climate change data and support disclosing companies. Commercially, LRQA will align its PR and marketing activities to those of CDP in order to maximise its association with them. LRQA will also be supporting CDP’s premier event in North America later this year.
Madlen King – LRQA Global Head of Climate Change & Sustainability said, “Our strategic alliance with CDP offers LRQA the opportunity to influence organisations and their climate change strategies as well as benefiting from being associated with such a widely-respected organisation who is spearheading a corporate cultural shift towards better reporting and accountability within the sustainability arena. Our experience in delivering independent sustainability verification assurance services is in line with CDP’s strategic aim to improve the management of environmental risk by putting relevant information at the heart of business, policy and investment decisions.”
Commenting on the renewal Paul Simpson, CDP’s CEO said, “There is a strong market need for high quality, reliable data showing how companies are managing and reducing their impacts on the environment. This demand continues to drive the strategic importance of independent third party verification at CDP and we are delighted that LRQA, as an expert in this field, will be continuing as a partner.”
