BEST, a Premier Provider of Insurance Continuing Education Courses and Training Programs, Announces the Publication of Its FL 5-Hour Law & Ethics CE Training Courses
New Port Richey, FL (PRWEB) May 01, 2014 -- The Florida Division of Insurance has approved BEST’s FL 5-Hour Law and Ethics Update for CE 5-214 and 5-Hour Law and Ethics Update for CE 5-215 insurance continuing education training courses. These insurance continuing education courses were created to assist Florida 214 and 215 licensed insurance professionals in meeting their renewal requirement. Insurance producers must be licensed properly in order to sell insurance in the jurisdictions where they conduct business. A resident license is required for selling within the state where the producer resides; should a producer sell in another state, he or she must obtain a non-resident license to do so.
As all producers know, the Insurance Industry is highly regulated. It is regulated to protect the public interest and to make sure insurance is available on an equitable basis. The CE training courses review the regulation of the industry from several perspectives and divided among a number of authorities.
Also covered are the licensing and oversight of insurance producers and insurers to protect the consumer and allow the departments to maintain standards of uniformity, presentation of new Florida insurance laws and updates, as well as, the federal laws relevant to Florida licensed insurance professional.
In June 2008, the Florida legislators amended Chapter 2012-209, Section F.S. 626.2815. Effective October 1, 2014, licensees will be required to complete a 5-hour update course every 2 years specific to the license held and cover insurance law updates, premium discounts, ethics, disciplinary trends, industry trends, and suitability of insurance products.
Since all licensees have 24 months to complete their continuing education requirements, the new law will affect those licensees who began their continuing education cycle on November 1, 2012 and will complete the cycle in October, 2014.
Note: Non-resident agents and adjusters of Florida who are licensed and complete continuing education requirements in a state reciprocal with Florida will not be required to complete a 5-hour course.
To assist Florida 214 and 215 licensed insurance professionals in meeting the Florida Division of Insurance’s renewal requirement, BEST has published its new FL 5-Hour Law and Ethics Update for CE 5-214 and 5-Hour Law and Ethics Update for CE 5-215 CE training courses for 214 and 215 licensed insurance professionals. The courses are offered online and are available anytime, anywhere.
