Historic Trinity Church Selects Yamaha Pianos for Renowned Concert Series, Worship Services and Educational Programs
New York (PRWEB) April 15, 2014 -- Yamaha pianos are playing a key role in the many musical offerings at the historic Trinity Church in Manhattan, thanks to the organization’s recent purchase of two Yamaha C7X pianos. The organization also regularly incorporates Yamaha full-size concert grands, including the highly acclaimed CFX, from Yamaha Artist Services, New York, for its robust schedule of concerts, worship and educational events—including the popular ‘Concerts at One’, Choir of Trinity Wall Street and Trinity Youth Chorus performances.
The pianos were purchased by Trinity Wall Street through Faust Harrison Pianos, a leading Yamaha dealer with several locations in Manhattan, Westchester and Long Island.
“Yamaha and its instruments have rightfully earned a reputation for excellence. When we were seeking to purchase two pianos for our musical program at Trinity, we chose the C7X for its quality of sound, craftsmanship and performance,” said Julian Wachner, the GRAMMY-nominated conductor who serves as Trinity’s Director of Music and the Arts. “These Yamaha C7X pianos are a wonderful fit for our program, and we are also thrilled to have access to Yamaha’s flagship CFX concert grands as we need them throughout the year.”
CX Series grand pianos carry forward the traditions of the legendary C Series introduced in 1967—while giving full play to the technological and sound production know-how that Yamaha gained during the development of the CFX. Following the same guiding concept as the CF Series, the CX Series pursues the rich resonance and expressiveness expected of a Yamaha grand piano. Achieving this goal entailed major improvements in every element affecting sound quality, including the design, back posts, soundboard, ribs, strings and hammers. Meticulous regulation and voicing performed by Yamaha’s highly skilled specialists gives these grand pianos a beautifully rich resonance. The end result is a bright, clear, “singing” tone, rich harmonics and a depth of expressiveness to satisfy even the most demanding performer.
For featured performers and special occasions, Wachner brings in the flagship instrument of the Yamaha line, the nine-foot CFX concert grand. Incorporating numerous refinements in performance and appearance, this model represents the highest standard of excellence. Characterized by a wide palette of tonal colors and the ability to create the subtlest expressive nuances, the CFX can project majestically over the sound of a symphony orchestra, even in very large halls.
Wachner, a highly sought-after composer and keyboard artist, is also eager to incorporate Yamaha pianos into the many educational outreach initiatives Trinity conducts in partnership with New York City’s public school system.
Trinity Church, located at the head of Wall Street, was established in 1697 and is one of the oldest, largest and most vibrant Episcopal parishes in the nation. It has grown to include many important areas of focus and is collectively known as Trinity Wall Street. Its music program has been described as “indispensible and unmissable” by the New York Times.
