Woodchuck® Hard Cider Announces 5th Annual Earth Week Campaign
Middlebury, VT (PRWEB) April 16, 2014 -- Woodchuck Hard Cider, one of the leading purveyors of handcrafted hard apple cider in the U.S., is excited to announce its fifth annual Earth Week campaign to support American Forests’® Global ReLeaf program and the Vermont Tree Fruit Growers Association. Taking place from April 16-22, 2014, Woodchuck will donate one tree to American Forests® and one dollar to the Vermont Tree Fruit Growers Association for every new Facebook “Like” or e-newsletter signup received from fans and supporters.
Since its first Earth Week campaign in 2010, Woodchuck has donated over 42,000 trees to American Forests®, the nation’s oldest nonprofit conservation organization. Woodchuck partnered with the Vermont Tree Fruit Growers Association for the first time in 2013, and last year’s campaign generated over $7,300 to help the organization in its efforts to support local Vermont tree fruit farmers.
The Earth Week campaigns are just one effort of many that Woodchuck makes in its commitment to environmental stewardship and local agriculture. Woodchuck goes green from the bottom up, starting with renewable energy. The brand is Vermont’s second largest purchaser of “Cow Power,” which provides 25 percent of Woodchuck’s energy. Another 14 percent comes from a local “solar orchard” in Bridport, VT.
“The environment is at the core of what we do, and these partnerships run deep,” said Woodchuck Communications Manager Nate Formalarie. “Without strong community support for local agriculture and awareness about the importance of taking care of the planet, we would not be able to craft the highest quality cider possible. We’re sending a big thanks to all the Woodchuck fans out there who see what we’re doing and want to be a part of it.”
Woodchuck encourages all cider fans to participate in the Earth Week 2014 campaign and to spread the word to convert passion for cider into action for the planet. To participate in the campaign, fans can sign up for the e-newsletter and visit Facebook.
