Piedmont, CA (PRWEB) April 16, 2014
After the release of the CoreLogic National Foreclosure Report for February 2014, the DSNews reported that foreclosures between February 2013 and February 2014 declined nationally by 15%.(1) Anian Tunney – a real estate agent broker in Piedmont, CA – was pleased to note that February marked the 28th consecutive month that the real estate industry experienced a decline of foreclosure inventory.
“Home ownership is a key part of ‘The American Dream’; that so many people have lost that in the past five years is disheartening,” remarked Tunney. In fact, the number of foreclosures completed between September 2008 and today is almost three times the number between 2000 and 2006.
While Piedmont – Tunney’s primary region – did not suffer as many foreclosures as the rest of the San Francisco Bay Area, its residents were not immune to the effects of the housing crisis. Many home owners have had to put off moving and potential home buyers have not been able to move up into the affluent region.
“Everyone is glad to see these latest numbers from CoreLogic, it is a relief to have confirmation that the market continues to gain strength,” noted Tunney. “Even though I can see that my client-base is feeling better, I depend on national resources to know what is going on elsewhere.” Tunney recently closed sales on two large homes in Piedmont; one at 150 Requa Road for $6,500,000 and the other at 1 Bellevue for $4,500,000 which shows the strength of the local Piedmont real estate market.
Residents do seem to feel more confident in the market as more properties become available. One home for sale in Piedmont is 99 Seaview Avenue, offered at $2,999,000. Other Piedmont houses for sale include 33 Calvert Court, offered at $995,000.
