Comedy Catalyst Today Announced The Release Of Its Scripted Series 'ROOMIEZ' About German Standup Comedian Ulrich Unsuccessfully Trying To Find A Roommate On Craigslist.
Hollywood, CA (PRWEB) April 17, 2014 -- Comedy Catalyst, a leading webportal for original comedic webseries, announced today the world wide release of its scripted series Roomiez, and its first episode entitled "Dog F*ckers Anonymous." It premieres today, April 17th, on Youtube and Funny or Die.
"Roomiez" is a web series about German comedian and former Groundling Ulrich (Chase Ulrich) trying to find a roommate through Craigslist, but coming up short in every episode.
Said Ulrich, "If you go on Craigslist to find a roomie, you have run out of other options, and the people looking for a place are typically as desperate as you are. Now, you can't discriminate against anyone for anything, so you have to come up with creative ways to tell them it's not a match. I've lifted my shirt a couple of times, asking them: 'do you think that is a lot of hair?' They usually leave very quickly, if not, I follow up with 'do you want to touch it?'"
In the first episode, a recovering animal sex addict, played by Casey O'Keefe, wants to rent the room. "I laughed out loud when I first read the part; it was so far out there, but still relatable...when I first moved to LA and looked for a roommate, I encountered all sorts of different types...everyone has their weird ticks and tendencies," O'Keefe said when asked why she took the part. "As an actress, it's just so much fun to make other people laugh and put fun, silly things out there. I love sketch comedy and it's a blast to push the envelope.
Adds Ulrich, "This is the internet; it's no holds barred." When asked how he came up with an episode called 'Dog F*ckers Anonymous', said Ulrich: "That's a loaded question, but harmless answer. The story of this episode is inspired by Edward Albee's famous play The Goat (2002), where the main character fell in love with a goat."
This 18 episode series, of which a new episode will be released each Tuesday, begins April 15th on ComedyCatalyst.com. The series was produced by Keppler Entertainment and is distributed by Comedy Catalyst.
