NEWaukee establishes Milwaukee as the nation’s leader in Millennial engagement with the 3rd annual YPWeek 2014 April 12 to April 19, an eight-day conference taking a hands-on approach to addressing issues facing the younger generation with 30 unique events hosted in 25 exclusive and historic locations around the city.
Each year, NEWaukee partners with over 50 different local organizations to create a springboard for idea and goal sharing among Milwaukee’s millennial workforce. With the platform of YPWeek, NEWaukee and local partners create a national audience for idea sharing, an increased sense of connectivity, and an investment in our local community among Milwaukee’s millennial workforce.

The week features local government, corporate and nonprofit leadership exposing their contributions to the city at large. Highlights of the week’s programming include the Lock-in: A Night at the Museum – The Bubbler Awards Ceremony and adult sleepover at the Milwaukee Public Museum; Keynote Presentation by John Burke, CEO of Trek Bikes; The Naked Ballet – A live performance by the Milwaukee Ballet to the sounds of local rock band The Fatty Acids; World Water Day Hosted by Badger Meter and the Water Council; One-Eighty: A Reverse Job Fair at the Milwaukee Art Museum with local corporate leadership pitching why their company’s culture is a good fit for those seeking employment; The Kick Off A 3v3 Soccer Tournament at the MSOE Pamela and Hermann Viets Field.

This year, NEWaukee introduces two new programs within YPWeek: The Rise and Grind: 6 a.m. Workouts held throughout the city and The Spotlight at Rumpus Room: 3 p.m. Speaker- series with diverse and interesting national young professionals who will come to Milwaukee to share their stories and inspirations.
