Cellucor, sports nutrition brand and maker of the explosive pre-workout supplement, C4 Extreme, announced the winner of the first ever ‘Cellucor C4 Mystery Flavor Challenge.’

After months of anticipation from Cellucor fans, the sports nutrition brand revealed the winner of its first ever ‘Cellucor C4 Mystery Flavor Challenge.’ “Flyin’ Hawaiian” beat out 32 other flavors in a fan driven, ‘March Madness’ style bracket. During the final part of the contest, fans voted for their favorite names, which were selected by Cellucor from a pool of over 25,000 entries. Fans ultimately decided the fate of the lucky winner, who not only took home the title, but also a grand prize of $25,000.

"This campaign has been a lot of fun for all of us. We drew inspiration from the ‘mystery flavor’ candies we had as kids, and wanted to come up with this really cool and innovative fan-driven campaign that integrated online apps, social media, and an on-shelf product,” said Daniel Lourenco, VP Marketing.

The contest, which ran through Cellucor’s Facebook page and the official Cellucor Mystery Flavor landing page, launched January 1, 2014, and ended on March 31, 2014. It consisted of two stages—10 “weekly challenges,” and a bracketed fan-vote showdown to decide the grand prize winner.

Cellucor hosted “weekly challenges,” calling on fans to come up with names that fit a specific theme for that week. Ten weekly challenge winners and 22 handpicked names rounded out the final bracket of 32. All finalists received Cellucor products, apparel and cash prizes.

"The participation was amazing, the submissions were great, and picking the pool of finalists was hard. I'm really happy we had the help of over 55,000 fan votes in the final stages to pick the winner. It took the pressure off us to choose from such a creative set of names," commented Lourenco.
