Northeast Delta HSA Fulfills Promise with Services for Citizens Event in West Carroll Parish
Monroe, LA (PRWEB) April 17, 2014 -- Northeast Delta Human Services Authority (NE Delta HSA), which manages the operation of community-based programs that improve the quality of life of people with major mental illnesses, addictive disorders and developmental disabilities, conducted a Services for Citizens Fair with local providers in the Oak Grove community today.
As promised at the West Carroll Town Hall meeting held in March, today local behavioral and developmental disability healthcare providers and NE Delta HSA staff directly connected citizens with services.
“We promised the people in West Carroll Parish that we would take quick action and marshal resources to ensure citizens have access to mental health, substance abuse and developmental disability services,” said Dr. Monteic A. Sizer, Northeast Delta HSA Executive Director. “We will continue to serve as a catalyst in bringing providers and citizens together.”
“This type of event is unprecedented in our field,” he said. “Additional events are in the works to reach more and more of our citizens, particularly in our rural communities, throughout the 12 parishes we serve. We are deeply committed to ensuring access to services with excellent customer service and competent, quality care.”
“We greatly appreciate the dedication of the healthcare providers who participated today, including the Delta Recovery Center, the Louisiana Center Against Poverty (LACAP), Northeast Louisiana Substance Abuse (NELSA), West Carroll Partners in Prevention and Gail Durbin Gambling Services,” said Dr. Sizer. “These providers are the vital link in our ongoing and continued efforts throughout our region to connect citizens with services.”
