TMT M&A Adviser, Law Firm and Financing Bank Shortlists announced for MENA Awards
Dubai, United Arab Emirates (PRWEB UK) 22 April 2014 -- The shortlists for TMT M&A Adviser, Financing Bank, and Legal Adviser have been announced for the TMT Finance Middle East and North Africa 2014 Awards, with nine investment banks and four law firms making this year’s list.
The M&A Adviser shortlist includes BNP Paribas, which was sole financial adviser to Etisalat on its agreed E4.2bn acquisition of Maroc Telecom; Credit Agricole-CIB, which acted for Vivendi on the same transaction, as well as advising strategic capital-linked transactions for Zain KSA and Mobily; Goldman Sachs, which advised Qatar Foundation on its US$1.3bn investment into Bharti Airtel; and Lazard for its role advising Vivendi on the sale of Maroc Telecom, and also its mandate to advise STC on the sale of Axis Telecom.
BNP Paribas and Credit Agricole-CIB also made the shortlist for Financing Bank, alongside HSBC and four Gulf banks: Arab Bank Corporation; Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank; National Bank of Abu Dhabi; and QInvest, for their roles on transactions such as Du’s US$1.17bn debt financing and Ooredoo’s debut US$ 1.25bn sukuk.
In the legal category, Clifford Chance, Dentons, Latham & Watkins and Webb Henderson were selected, with all four firms extremely active in 2013 and 2014 across the region.
