San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) April 21, 2014
Invictus Medical, the San Antonio, Texas-based medical device company dedicated to providing newborns with healthy developmental milestones, today announced its sponsorship of the upcoming Fourth Annual National Association of Neonatal Therapists (NANT) Conference. The conference will be held in Atlanta, April 24-26, 2014.
“Neonatal therapists are an amazing group of dedicated professionals who have the privilege and responsibility of treating some of our most precious patients – newborns and infants,” said Tom Roberts, Invictus Medical CEO and Board Member. “We are honored to be a sponsor of NANT’s 2014 conference – it represents an opportunity to help support important discussion and advancement in the area of neonatal care. The conditions that impact our youngest patients are worthy of our utmost attention and education. We applaud NANT for all it does and all it represents to make this possible.”
Invictus Medical will have space at NANT 2014 where the company will be available for discussion and questions regarding its patented technology, which focuses on combating deformational plagiocephaly (DP) – a cranial deformity exhibited in infants resulting from repeated external pressure to one area of the head.
In addition to being a cosmetic issue, according to a study published in Pediatrics in
2013, DP has been associated with heightened risk for developmental delays in infants and toddlers. Up to 1.2 million U.S. newborns are at risk of DP, with the condition affecting approximately 20 to 30 percent of all infants. Invictus Medical aspires for its product to become a standard of care in preventing DP.
