CareTech Solutions Saves $4.7 Million with One Software Application

Company automates IT service desk requests with Kinetic Data products.

St. Paul, MN (PRWEB) April 21, 2014

CareTech Solutions was honored as “Innovator of the Year” by Kinetic Data at the company's Annual User Conference.

As the medical profession transitions to electronic medical records, hospitals are working hard to ensure that the change proceeds as seamlessly as possible for doctors and nurses. By transitioning from manual processes to a single Web-based service request portal using Kinetic Data software several years ago, CareTech Solutions, an IT and Web products and services provider headquartered in Troy, Mich., was prepared for its clients’ transition to electronic medical records.

In order to be more efficient, CareTech contracted with St. Paul, Minn.-based Kinetic Data to automate its IT service desk requests (e.g., access to an application, name change, etc.) using software called Kinetic Request, a key component for enterprise request management (ERM).

The result? CareTech Solutions handled nearly 250,000 service requests through the Web portal in 2013. By empowering its base of nearly 400,000 end users to initiate and track the status of their own requests online, CareTech estimates the annual costs savings and productivity gains for its collective operation to be an impressive $4.7 million.

“We are honored to receive this award,” said Karl Graham, chief information officer of Client Services, CareTech Solutions. “Using Kinetic Data products allows busy nurses, administrators and other hospital employees to report problems and request technology services through easy-to-use web portals, rather than having to pick up the phone. We are able to get their technology needs taken care of quickly so they can get back to patient care.”

“CareTech Solutions is always very innovative in finding ways to stretch the capabilities of our products,” said John Sundberg, president of Kinetic Data. “They are one of the first to use Kinetic Request in conjunction with iPads at their offices in order to centralize visitor information with a digital sign-in sheet.”
