Executives at the Vikings selected three EarthCam cameras – one high definition live streaming camera and two digital SLR megapixel time-lapse cameras – to share the progress for this significant project. Each camera offers a unique perspective of the site, enabling project teams to view activity remotely in real-time, while documenting the entire process for time-lapse photography. The GigapixelCam delivers unmatched views of the site, including impressive billion-pixel panoramas perfect for showcasing the multi-purpose stadium in broadcast and social media. Live views of the project are available online, so fans and the community can view and share progress until the scheduled completion in July 2016.

The 1.75 million square-foot facility, which officially broke ground on December 3rd, replaces the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in downtown Minneapolis. The new 65,000-seat stadium boasts a bold geometric design, including the largest transparent ETFE roof in the nation and five pivoting glass doors on the west side. The doors open to a three-acre plaza and offer spectacular views of the downtown skyline. And don’t be fooled by its massive size…this stadium will get fans closer to the field than any other stadium in the NFL. In addition to serving as the home field for the Minnesota Vikings, the versatile space will also host high school & collegiate sports, conventions and concerts.
