Self-directed IRAs are popular because they allow a myriad of both traditional and alternative investments as assets to build income for retirement. Advanta IRA Administration addresses the fact that hedge funds are investments permissible within self-directed accounts and explains how this process works.

Much talk has been generated by the media in recent years regarding hedge funds as a popular investment vehicle. Although hedge funds have had both positive and negative results, these investment types are almost always heavily sensationalized. “To clarify the use of self-directed IRAs to invest in hedge funds, Advanta IRA Administration is hosting a nationwide webinar for investors who may be considering adding these assets to their accounts,” says Managing Partner of Advanta IRA Administration, Jack Callahan.

In this webinar, Monte Smith, CISP, will define self-directed IRAs, clarify the rules and regulations of investing these accounts into a private placement like hedge funds, and the resulting ownership interest of the self-directed IRA. A guest speaker for this event is Dr. Paul Jabber of Globicom Advisory Services, LLC. Dr. Jabber will explain what a hedge fund is and clearly define some of the related terms investors may have heard regarding hedge funds. He will also discuss how individuals can use self-directed IRAs to invest in hedge funds.

Advanta IRA Administration encourages investors to attend this webinar to learn how self-directed IRAs offer account owners total control over their own investment choices. “Gaining knowledge about different types of alternative investments that are allowed in these accounts is critical for investors seeking diversity in retirement portfolios,” says Callahan.
