Global Airport Parking Reservation Now Paperless in Support of Earth Day
(PRWEB) April 22, 2014 -- In support of Earth Day and the environmentally friendly principles it was founded upon, this April 22nd Global Airport Parking announces digital confirmation for customers. Using the confirmation email page on their smart phone customers can now verify their purchase without printing. Previously travelers were required to print out their detailed confirmation email and present it upon arrival at the parking facility. The printed confirmation is often misplaced which can lead to confusion and frustration, and the necessity of printing has an ongoing effect on the environment. Now an electronic version of the confirmation will be acceptable at almost all Global facilities.
The United States, which contains only 5% of the world’s population, uses 30% of all paper. Global Airport Parking sends out an average of 30,000 confirmations each month, these 1-2 page documents will no longer have to be printed greatly reducing the carbon footprint for the company. And with free shuttle service at every parking facility the amount of greenhouse gas as well as the traffic congestion is reduced at over 110 airports and seaports from travelers who take advantage of park and ride services.
In addition, Global has partnered up with International Bird Rescue which was formed to care for avian victims of environmental disasters, specifically aquatic birds in emergency situations. As part of the Global Change Initiative, for an entire month every reservation that is made will be given the option to round up their total to the nearest dollar and donate the difference to International Bird Rescue.
