Dr. Elliott Alpher Announced As O.A.T. Expert at the Living Heart Foundation’s HOPE Former NFL Players' Health Assessment For Research With Pro Player Health Alliance
(PRWEB) April 23, 2014 -- The former NFL players' health assessment for research study will be held at the George Washington University Hospital system in Washington, D.C., April 26, 2014. This news is announced by David Gergen, President of Pro Player Health Alliance, which occurs at a time when Dr. Elliott Alpher becomes the first Diplomate in the American Sleep and Breathing Academy (ASBA) Dental Division as well.
Dr. Alpher will oversee sleep apnea evaluations as part of an obesity research project with LH F HOPE supported by Pro Player Health Alliance. Other health risk factors that are related to obesity are also being evaluated by Living Heart Foundation. David Gergen is thrilled to have Dr. Alpher be a part of the cause, adding him to the "Tackle Sleep Apnea" campaign and stating, "The combined effort of these organizations working together within the medical and wellness community is key to addressing the needs of sleep disordered breathing."
Another recent accomplishment Dr. Alpher was involved in was following a successful presentation with and David Gergen, the ASBA Dental Division Executive Director, to the Department of Transportation, which resulted in President Obama signed into law H.R. 3095. This will require commercial truck drivers to be screened for OSA.
