Nationwide Title Clearing, Inc. (NTC) Says “Don’t Stop Believing”—NTC Participates in 2014 Relay For Life of Palm Harbor & Tarpon Springs for 5th Consecutive Year
Palm Harbor, FL (PRWEB) April 23, 2014 -- Nationwide Title Clearing, Inc. (NTC) will fight against cancer for the fifth consecutive year at Relay For Life of Palm Harbor & Tarpon Springs, an annual event held to increase awareness and fundraising efforts to benefit the American Cancer Society’s research into finding a cure for cancer. NTC, a leading research and document-processing provider for the mortgage and financial industry, has previously raised a total of over $43,000 in donations for the American Cancer Society and plans to increase that number with this year’s contributions. The 2014 theme for Relay For Life of Palm Harbor is television shows, and each team represents a different show with an accompanying slogan—NTC chose Glee, paired with the phrase, “Don’t Stop Believing.” Relay For Life of Palm Harbor & Tarpon Springs will be held Friday, May 2 at 6:00 p.m. at Palm Harbor University High School, located at 1900 Omaha Street, Palm Harbor, FL.
Relay For Life is an overnight, 18-hour event held by the American Cancer Society that imparts a team effort culture designed to honor cancer survivors and remember loved ones lost, while also raising awareness and money to help defeat the disease. More than 3.5 million people who participate each year take turns walking around the track for pledges and donations, and to show their support for those affected by cancer. NTC’s 28-person team is led by captains Joellen Thompson and Erika Lance, NTC’s VP Marketing and Chief Human Resources Officer, respectively—both of whom have participated in Relay For Life since NTC first joined the cause.
The company has employees that serve positions on the Relay For Life Committee for the Palm Harbor & Tarpon Springs Chapter and is currently ranked as the number one team in terms of donations. NTC has reached 80% of their fundraising goal of $11,000 for 2014 and is set to surpass last year’s fundraising total.
“Helping our community as a company gives us a sense of pride,” said Thompson. “Many of us at NTC have experienced the loss of a loved one due to cancer, and we are dedicated to making a difference.”
As team co-captain, Thompson is helping to get the word out to as many people as possible who can support, donate to and join the 2014 Relay For Life event. She is leading her NTC “Glee” team by hosting a variety of fundraisers at her NTC office leading up to the event, including hot dog lunches, raffles, bake sales and obtaining corporate sponsorships.
Relay For Life Palm Harbor & Tarpon Springs is the largest employee-volunteer event that NTC sponsors; NTC employees come together to help raise money for cancer research and to support cancer survivors. NTC’s stringent dedication has even led to the company previously being recognized by the rock band KISS when the band featured the NTC’s volunteers on its official website homepage and Facebook page.
As a company, NTC has demonstrated its dedication to enacting a positive impact on the Tampa Bay area by way of its involvement in many philanthropic affairs, including annual toy, food and blood drives. NTC also supports Toys for Tots and the Annual Harbor Art Festival—all in an effort to make the community a better place to live and work for their hundreds of employees.
NTC CEO John Hillman added, “Each year, we’re inspired to do more than we did in previous years; our employees continuously strive to do their part in helping to prevent cancer from taking another life.”
NTC, perhaps best known for its expertise in extensive research and document-processing services such as lien release processing, is an advocate for best practices and legislation that standardize the mortgage industry for the betterment of homeowners, land records and the industry at large.
