U.S. Psychiatric and Mental Health Congress Announces Jeffrey Tambor As Kickoff Keynote Speaker
Malvern, PA (PRWEB) April 22, 2014 -- HMP Communications Holdings, LLC, a leader in healthcare communications and education, is proud to announce that Emmy-nominated actor, Jeffrey Tambor, will serve as their 2014 kickoff keynote speaker for the 27th annual U.S. Psychiatric and Mental Health Congress (Psych Congress).
A veteran of film, television, and the Broadway stage, Mr. Tambor is one of the most iconic and respected character actors of his generation. Best known for his portrayal of off-the-wall characters in television shows such as “The Larry Sanders Show,” and “Arrested Development,” Mr. Tambor will use comedy and his personal experiences to delve into how the mental illness of loved ones has affected his life.
“We are thrilled to have Jeffrey Tambor as our kickoff keynote speaker for this year’s conference,” 2014 Psych Congress Program Chair, Vladimir Maletic, MD, MS, said. “Mr. Tambor’s lighthearted approach to personal experiences and observations surrounding mental illness make him an ideal fit for our audience. We hope his words entertain and inspire our mental health professionals to take advantage of all of the educational and networking opportunities offered at the meeting.”
Access to Mr. Tambor’s address on Friday, September 19 includes a 30-minute cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception, and is complimentary with registration to one of the four pre-conference modules offered prior to the beginning of the national conference, being held on September 20-23, 2014 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel in Orlando, FL.
As a precursor to the keynote address, Psych Congress will acknowledge Alison Malmon, the Executive Director and Founder of Active Minds, Inc., the 2014 Psych Congress charitable partner. Ms. Malmon will take the stage to discuss how her nonprofit organization, with its mission of empowering students to speak openly about mental health, is helping to foster the mental health professionals of tomorrow.
“We take great pride in the four days of intensive learning that Psych Congress affords those mental health professionals who register for the meeting,” said Jeff Hennessy, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, HMP Communications Holdings. “When we conceptualized the kickoff keynote address two years ago, we wanted to provide added value for our attendees and create a format that was powerful, motivating and enjoyable. We know Mr. Tambor will be a great start to an incredible meeting.”
