Washington, DC (PRWEB) April 24, 2014
Committed to helping outstanding young people prepare for and make the most of their future school, college and career experiences, Envision today announced that it is accepting applications for the 2014 Envision Future Engineer Scholarship for the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF): Careers in Engineering & Technology.
The scholarship will be awarded to a current high school student who wishes to attend this summer’s NYLF Engineering & Technology program at the University of California, Berkeley, July 19 – July 26.
Gopi Parampalli, Senior Director of Enterprise Application Services for Electronic Arts, is scheduled to speak to scholars about the future of the engineering and technology professions.
Envision will select the recipient of the Envision Future Engineer Scholarship based on financial need, scholastic merit, leadership achievement and other factors. The scholarship application for NYLF Engineering & Technology must be completed by Friday, May 16, 2014.
The scholarship will cover full tuition for the program, including a comprehensive schedule of experiences and skill-building activities to explore the fields of engineering and technology.
Scholars in the program receive firsthand exposure to engineering and technology professionals and learn about careers that are in high demand in the United States and throughout the world. Interactive simulations, hands-on workshops and educational site visits provide opportunities for discovery. Students also gain valuable college exposure while visiting some of the nation’s best universities for innovation.
“Envision is thrilled to have such a reputable keynote speaker as Gopi Parampalli take part in our program,” said Jan A. Sikorsky, Ph.D., the Vice President of Education for NYLF Engineering & Technology. “We are excited to have the opportunity to make this experience available to a high school student who may not otherwise be able to attend this life-changing program to explore a future in engineering and technology.”
