SPRINGFIELD, N.J (PRWEB) April 28, 2014

Motorcyclists will be out in full force as the weather gets warmer, which is why May is the perfect time for Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. Fatal crashes with motorcycles are on the rise and non-fatal accidents can result in catastrophic injuries. Many automobile drivers do not realize that in order to protect themselves first, motorcyclists cannot try to swerve to avoid an accident – they often need to drop the bike. That means that automobile drivers should be very aware of how much room they are leaving a motorcycle to navigate, certainly more than they would a car. We all need to be more aware of motorcyclists in order to save lives and avoid serious injuries. By following basic safety rules, we can all help prevent crashes. The message is for all drivers and riders: Share the responsibility of keeping our roads safe—always share the road.

In recognition and support of Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, Rider Insurance will be running daily Facebook promotions during May. ‘Like’ Rider’s Facebook page and enter for daily prize give-a-ways. Prizes range from motorcycle safety apparel to motorcycle training courses. The promotion kicks off at 10 am (EST) on Thursday, May 1, 2014. http://www.facebook.com/RiderInsuranceCo.
