First Unfairytale and Almost Biographical Novel of a Writer Who Died at Birth to Launch on April 28th
Jackson, Ohio (PRWEB) April 24, 2014 -- “When You Leave This Way”, the first written novel of “Unfairytale Series”, tells the heartache story of young Brandon Wright living in a reality which no child or teenager should ever have to endure. It is the story of about childhood prematurely lost, initiation (in crime) and a forced and fast way to maturity.
More precisely, Randy’s novel has all the topics taboo to children: child abuse, murder, running away from home, decadence, poverty, sexual predators, all with no justice, nor retrogression: when it’s lost, it’s gone forever. There is no magic wand to rectify inequalities or manifest repentance in this dystopian reality of an underage boy trying to find answers, even though everything gradually collapses around forcing him into maturity.
The tone of his book is nonlinear, with serious and dramatic accents in some parts, interlaced with funny and comical elements, mirroring author’s own life in that regard.
The 31 year old writer has a less ordinary life. Even though he died on the same day he was born as a result of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and lives with bilateral deafness and paralysis in his face and right hand following a diagnosis of NF2 at the age of sixteen, Randy is wearing his abnormalities like a badge of honor. His unbridled imagination, unwavering wordplay and a witty sense of humour made him chose a writing career and “When You Leave This Way” is his first novel to be published.
The idea for this book is rooted in his own life, as he was raised by an alcoholic and abusive father, he and his sister ran away from home once, out of anger and disdain. The author himself describes his book as “a warped memoir, with things grotesquely exaggerated. Exaggerated or not, there are glimpses and pieces of Randy Pendleton in this thing.”
