Woodchuck® Hard Cider’s 2014 Earth Week Campaign Plants 5,249 Trees and Donates $5,249
Middlebury, Vt. (PRWEB) April 23, 2014 -- Woodchuck Hard Cider’s fifth annual Earth Week campaign concluded yesterday on Earth Day. The craft cider brand rallied fans to help support two important organizations and as a result of the campaign, American Forests® will plant 5,249 trees on behalf of the fans of Woodchuck Hard Cider and the brand will donate $5,249 to the Vermont Tree Fruit Growers Association.
Over the five years Woodchuck has partnered with American Forests, it has planted over 47,000 trees in areas devastated by natural disasters around the country. For the second year in a row, Woodchuck has also collaborated with the Vermont Tree Fruit Growers Association to support the efforts of the Vermonters who produce apples used to make Woodchuck Hard Cider.
“Our handcrafted cider starts with the apple trees, so to continue making the best cider possible, we need to invest in agriculture locally and support initiatives that protect our environment,” said Woodchuck Marketing Director, Bridget Blacklock. “The annual Earth Week campaign is our chance to give back to causes that really matter to us, and we appreciate the overwhelming support we receive each year from our fans.”
The campaign planted one tree and donated one dollar for every new Facebook fan ‘Like’ or e-newsletter sign up received. Over the course of the week, we received a total of 5,249 ‘likes’ and e-newsletter signups.
