Houston, TX (PRWEB) April 24, 2014
Prognosis Innovation Healthcare (Prognosis, http://www.prognosisinnovation.com) announced that its product, ChartAccess® version 5.0, has been tested and certified as 2014 compliant under the Drummond Group’s Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) program.
Led by the company’s original Founders, this success qualifies Prognosis customers to take advantage of key operational benefits and receive federal stimulus monies upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology, important to meeting the federal push for adoption of EHRs by all U.S. healthcare providers.
In addition to being evaluated against foundation standards such as HIPAA security, certified inpatient products are examined for their product functionality in regard to operational items including clinician order entry, documentation strength, and medication administration capabilities. Meeting the more stringent 2014 standards included additions to the ChartAccess software such as a barcode medicine administration, patient portal, increased state reporting requirements, and clinical quality measures (CQMs). All of these requirements are seamlessly managed by Prognosis clients through ChartAccess’ state of the art Meaningful Use Scorecard®, which provides real-time tracking tools to successfully manage progress towards CMS required Meaningful Use measurements.
“This certification enables Prognosis’ clients to continue a 100% success rate in regard to Meaningful Use 2014 attestations to CMS,” said Steve Everest, Prognosis President. “We are very proud that this is a record that Prognosis and its predecessor have maintained since federal attestations began in 2012.”
The Return of Founders
In January 2014, Prognosis announced a name change and new ownership with the return of original company founders, including John Joe, MD, MPH and Isaac Shi. Dr. Joe and Mr. Shi were the original clinical and software architects responsible for making ChartAccess one of the first six hospital EHR systems to receive full federal certification in early 2008, ahead of most competitors. Dr. Joe returns to serve as Vice-Chairman of Prognosis’ Board of Directors, reuniting his clinical and healthcare market expertise with Mr. Shi’s software expertise to empower Prognosis’ customers in enhancing patient care, reducing healthcare costs, and improving health.
“Our return to Prognosis marks a new era of excellence in customer focus, clinical functionality, and technology innovation,” said Dr. Joe. “We know first-hand the challenges faced by our customers, their providers, and their communities. We are raising the bar for customer communication, engagement, and partnership to address our customers’ needs in clinical integration and transformation, community health improvement, delivery system and payment reform, and sustainable business models in a rapidly changing and challenging healthcare environment. The customer hospital CEOs I have visited say they already experience the positives in the new Prognosis.”
