Lymphoma Research Foundation Partners With Saks Fifth Avenue Short Hills for Annual Ace Lymphoma Luncheon to Raise Funds for Blood Cancer Research
West Orange, NJ (PRWEB) April 24, 2014 -- More than 2,500 people were diagnosed with lymphoma – the most common form of blood cancer – in New Jersey last year alone. To raise critical funds for blood cancer research, the Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF) – the nation’s largest non-profit organization devoted exclusively to funding innovative lymphoma research and serving the lymphoma community – will host its fifth annual Ace Lymphoma Luncheon at Crestmont Country Club in West Orange, NJ on June 2, 2014. To date, the luncheon has raised more than $370,000 to support LRF’s mission of eradicating lymphoma and serving those touched by the disease.
“Five years ago, I was determined to start a fundraiser to honor my daughter; her strength and courage were an inspiration to me and the entire community,” said Vivian Friedman, founder of LRF’s Ace Luncheon. “I am thrilled that within a few years the event has grown significantly and has raised funds to make a meaningful difference for those who are affected by a lymphoma diagnosis.”
The Ace Lymphoma Luncheon kicks-off at 10:30 a.m. with a high-end shopping event. Attendees will enjoy gifts from a variety of boutiques, as well as exciting raffle and silent auction packages. The Lymphoma Research Foundation has partnered with Saks Fifth Avenue at the Mall at Short Hills, Daniella Ortiz Design of Palm Beach, Bonnie Jennifer Jewelry, as well as other select boutiques for this year’s Luncheon. Vendors will be donating a percentage of their sales to the Lymphoma Research Foundation. During the lunch, guests will hear an inspiring keynote address from Becky Friedman – a lymphoma survivor and daughter of Luncheon founder, Vivian Friedman – before moving on to a card party.
"Saks Fifth Avenue at The Mall at Short Hills is proud to partner with the Lymphoma Research Foundation for its fifth annual Ace Lymphoma Luncheon; we are excited to feature makeover consultations from Giorgio Armani Cosmetics to help raise awareness and funds for this very worthy fundraising event," said Karyn Benvenuto, Vice President, General Manager of Saks Fifth Avenue Short Hills. "We are always looking for ways to give back to our local community, and with nearly 2,500 people diagnosed with lymphoma each year in New Jersey this is a very important cause for us.”
Individual tickets for the Luncheon start at $125. Event and raffle tickets can be purchased by phoning Taylor Zitay Kahn, Director of Distinguished Events, at (646) 465-9103. All proceeds from the event will support LRF’s mission to eradicate lymphoma and serve those touched by the disease.
