Christians for Biblical Equality Announces Jeff Miller As New Priscilla Papers Editor
Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) April 24, 2014 -- Christians for Biblical Equality (CBE) announces Jeff Miller as new editor of 'Priscilla Papers,' CBE’s award winning academic journal.
Jeff Miller is the Vera Britton Chair of Bible and professor of Bible and ministry at Milligan College in northeast Tennessee. He first worked with CBE at CBE’s 2007 conference in Bangalore, India. Since that time, he has attended CBE conferences, written articles for CBE’s publications, and served as a regular contributor to the CBE Scroll, CBE’s blog.
Dr. Miller will be replacing Dr. William Spencer, who has served as editor since 2004. ”We are enormously grateful for the exemplary work that Dr. Spencer and his team have accomplished in their ten years editing 'Priscilla Papers',” stated Mimi Haddad, president of CBE. “Bill’s work has laid a strong foundation upon which 'Priscilla Papers' can stand for years to come.”
“It is both exciting and humbling to be making the transition from avid reader of 'Priscilla Papers' to its editor,” explained Dr. Miller. “This is a transition which must not be completed without an outpouring of gratitude: to Bill Spencer and his editorial team for the faithfulness and excellence with which they have served, to Mimi Haddad and her teams of staff and directors for their tireless work promoting the mission of CBE, and to CBE members and other readers of 'Priscilla Papers' for their intelligent support of biblical equality.”
When asked about the vision he holds for the future of 'Priscilla Papers,' Dr. Miller stated “My goal for 'Priscilla Papers,' as it approaches its thirtieth anniversary, is to continue the upward trajectory of excellence which the journal has maintained throughout its history. An exemplary editorial team is being assembled to ensure the journal remains a premier Christian publication, both academically and aesthetically. As a result, CBE will remain equipped to promote among evangelical leaders the biblical truth that all believers—without regard to gender, ethnicity or class—must exercise their God-given gifts with equal authority and equal responsibility in church, home and world.”
In its effort to advance a biblical foundation for gift-based rather than gender-based service, CBE sponsors annual conferences, facilitates local chapters, hosts an online book service, and publishes two award-winning journals. For more information, visit http://www.cbeinternational.org
