Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) April 28, 2014

Deep Patel, Founder & CEO of solar energy firm GigaWatt, now serves on the leadership council for Business Forward, a trade organization that brings together business leaders from across the country to advise Washington on issues like job creation and continued economic recovery.

In 2006, Patel launched GoGreenSolar.com, which ultimately became the horizontally integrated corporation GigaWatt. Though Patel has helped thousands of customers deploy solar energy systems worldwide, he remains closely tied to his entrepreneurial roots.

As a member of the council, Patel will be an influential voice for small businesses. Patel now looks forward to representing the solar industry and the local markets in southern California with Business Forward. He aims to encourage professionals within his own network to participate in Business Forward’s briefings, conference calls, and webinars that cover issues ranging from healthcare to climate change.

“Business Forward has opened up a dialogue between small businesses and our government,” explains Patel. “This gives small businesses a voice in the White House.”

Business Forward makes it possible for industry insiders like Deep Patel to fly into D.C. and meet with White House officials and members of Congress. Business leaders brief policymakers on how to create jobs, simplify corporate taxation, and promote prosperity in their local markets.

“Fly into DC and speak up,” says Patel. “Let’s sit down and talk with the people who craft public policy. It’s our responsibility to actively contribute to our democracy and Business Forward creates a space for us to do that.”
