Beginning in March of 2014, “Freedom Franchising” has been having enormous success placing candidates in home-based franchises. “It is very exciting because the advantages of home based franchises go far beyond the obvious” said Linda Schaeffer. “Low startup costs and no long term lease obligations are just two. In addition there is the flexibility that a home-based franchise allows that is what gives the franchise owner the perfect work-life balance”.
Home based franchises range from Academic Tutoring to Senior Care. Linda herself owned two home-based franchises that were in the Children’s Educational Enrichment arena. Both allowed her the flexibility to be home with her children but also have a career. Home-based franchises usually involve a staff of providers who work out in the field providing the service while the owner/manager handles all of the sales, marketing, management of the staff and customer service from the convenience of a home office.
The startup costs of a Home-based franchise are generally much less. An initial franchise fee along with training and office setup can be all that is necessary to get up and running. Many time an investor could spend less buying a multi-unit territory of a home-based franchise than they would buying just one “brick and mortar” franchise.
Linda’s professional achievements include being a top producer in two different franchise systems. Linda is unique as a franchise consultant because she has the advantage of having been on the side of franchise candidate as well.
