Novogradac Journal of Tax Credits Presents Renewable Energy Power Awards in San Francisco

The Novogradac Journal of Tax Credits today honored winners of the inaugural Renewable Energy Power Awards during a luncheon ceremony in San Francisco, Calif. The awards were announced in front of more than 200 developers, investors, and other renewable energy stakeholders attending the Novogradac Financing Renewable Energy Conference at the Four Seasons.

“We are pleased to congratulate the winners and honorable mentions of the inaugural Renewable Energy Power Awards for their exceptional work in bringing the benefits of renewable energy to communities across the country,” said Michael J. The Renewable Energy Power Awards were presented to development teams involved with effective and innovative renewable energy tax credit projects that created jobs, provided positive community impact and reduced energy footprints. Developments eligible for consideration used the federal renewable energy investment tax credit (ITC), the federal renewable energy production tax credit (PTC) and/or Section 1603 cash grant funds. Awardees were recognized in three categories:

Financial Innovation

  •     Honorable Mention: SunEdison California Department of General Services Transactions

o    Developed by SunPower Corporation

Overcoming Obstacles

  •     Winner: Cape and Vineyard Electric Cooperative Inc. and Town of Dennis Solar Project
o    Developed by American Capital Energy Inc.
  •     Honorable Mention: HRI Solar Energy Project
o    Developed by Historic Restoration Incorporated
  •     Honorable Mention: San Diego Unified School District
o    Developed by Main Street Power Company Inc.

Small Community Project

  •     Winner: Little Deschutes Lodge II
o    Developed by Pacific Crest Affordable Housing LLC
  •     Honorable Mention: St. Albans Solar Farm
o    Developed by Joseph Larkin of Larkin Realty
